This Christmas we are sending our Christmas wishes digitally. So we're sending you a Penhouse Reindeer (shown right and below) which can be downloaded from our website. We're inviting you to print it out and make it.... sure why not send us a picture too? We'll display the 'herd' we receive on Facebook, showing your very own reindeer looking good!! Have some festive fun...

2011 - What A Year...
In what can only be described as a challenging year, we'd like to thank all our clients and friends for helping us make 2011 a special one. 2011 gave us a great range of projects as we celebrated our 15th year in the design business, from exciting web designs & exhibitions, brochures & brand identities to lots of social media and inventive marketing fun.
We won an IDI award, some national tenders and had recognised logos published. We also had two Penhouse babies which was our favourite news of all. We look forward to starting all over again in 2012.
The studio will close up this year on Thursday of Christmas week, December 22nd and return on Wednesday January 4th. We'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)

Aquababies Ireland Website
We were approached by Phil and Dee to brand Aquababies for Ireland, with their website, gift token, livery and posters. The logo existed already as part of a franchise, but we had free reign to develp a new design around this. We designed a family of water characters and a created a completely new look for their Aquababies brand online.
It has made many of their fellow Franchisees in England sit up and notice them! The site is now updated by them, with a refreshing blog and social media updates too. Great people and a lovely gift of swimming for anyone with a baby - a good looking gift token too :)

Downtown Portlaoise
This initiative is close to our heart - promoting the 'shop local' concept in support of our local businesses. We got involved to lend our support as part of the 'local heroes' campaign and have really enjoyed the journey.
We branded this part of Portlaoise town with a logo design and branded concept, producing a range of marketing material including: street signage, flyers, banners, advertising, posters etc. to represent the businesses along main street and surrounding areas. We've also helped them with their online marketing. A lot of hard work is being done behind the scenes on a voluntary basis to keep small towns alive and we have really enjoyed being part of this Portlaoise story.

Carlow Partnership
Carlow Partnership invited us to brand their literature so that they might have a distinctive look to their marketing material. They had a logo already in place, but no set style for their overall marketing. We gave them a distinctive design which they have since rolled out across various media and marketing pieces.

Alf Harvey's 2011 Book - Life through the Lens
Alf Harvey is a Laois based photographer and this is his second book. He tells a truly enjoyable story of Laois in 2011 through a great range of photographs.
This was a pleasure for us to design and made even more enjoyable by Alf's delighted reaction on receipt! It launched just last night in Portlaoise and no doubt will be a popular stocking filler for Laois people all over the world.

Kildare Libraries
Kildare Libraries asked us to promote their new library opening hours. The hours were being reduced and they were concerned about how the public might perceive this. We came up with the theme 'There's a time for everyone at your local library', promoting the '24 hour' services, the 'opening time' services and 'scheduled time' services. We branded the campaign and produced leaflets, bookmarks, posters, return bins and display panels. So far it has been received very positively and we wish them well as it develops.

Api's Chocolates
This logo was designed for the delicious Api's Chocolate, handmade in Laois. We love its simplicity and look forward to seeing it as it develops.

Laois Partnership
We designed the identity for Laois Partnership some years back. They lend support to many local businesses, in fact many of our clients and so they like to promote their services and products. They contacted us this summer to produce some exhibition material for themselves, which would appropriately brand them and still promote their assisted clients. We produced a suite of 3 display stands, which were designed to work together or stand alone.

Bovigene Web Design
Bovigene is a new company based in Laois. Bovigene provides top quality bovine genetics and fertility management services to farmers and breeders throughout Leinster, Ireland and beyond.
We designed the Bovigene logo and website and are currently working on the digital catalogue and printed marketing material. We set up and styled their social media accounts and integrated them together, all to be easily managed and updated from one source.
We wish Stephen and all at Bovigene the very best with this new business.

Education Sector
This year we have developed a number of projects in the education sector. Looking back at the work, we realised that we have produced designs for every educational stage, ranging from Pre-School and Nursery years, through Primary School, Junior and Senior Cycles at Second Level and three Third Level Institutions. That's a lot of education in one year! Great fun to work on.

DCYA - Listen to Our Voices
Listen to Our Voices is a campaign that we branded for the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. It represents children and young people in the care of the state and encourages their point of view to be heard.
We met with a number of the young people involved in a focus group. We listened to their design thoughts, what they like, how they wanted to be represented and then we developed a number of designs. The final logo was unanimously selected.
We then worked with the talented Olivia McEvoy from Cnag ar an Doras, who wrote the content and together we produced a poster and promotional flyer.

Penhouse/Ratheniska NS - Culture Night/Design Week
This was a great fun project where we worked with the talents of our local school to create a '15' themed exhibition representing our small townsland of Ratheniska, for Culture Night 2011.
Each class produced a different range of pieces, celebrating various different media, from film, sculpture and mixed media, to paintings, poetry and collections.
Dunamaise Arts Centre kindly provided a room for us to house the exhibition, which officially opened on Culture Night 2011 and remained on display there for the month of October as a Fringe Event for Design Week 2011.
A Big Thank you to all involved :)

The Popular Penhouse Avatars
This year we set out to change our Avatar each month, using our logo shape, but theming it appropriately. We managed to do it and here they are in full. Thankfully the year as seen through a Penhouse Avatar is now complete and we can sit back a bit! Now the only dilemma reamins...which one do we keep?

Thank you
This Christmas, Penhouse has made a donation to the Midlands Simon Community. We'd like to thank you sincerely for your support this year allowing us this priviledge.
